They Save Your Life

A girl who feels hopeless and loses interest in day to day activities, finally finds hope with The Children's Society's support.

Client: The Children's Society, UK
Role: Director | Animator

A film created as part of my MA collaboration for The Children's Society, UK. It focuses on the charity organisation's ability to help young adults around the UK to survive and overcome their feelings of loneliness, fear and depression.

Taking inspiration from ‘When I Was Settled’ by Sacha Beeley and ‘The Children’ by Helena Bonastre Rodriguez, I was amazed by how simple lines can convey emotional concepts in a compelling way. I used the colour concept of blue and orange to effectively depict the sadness and positivity respectively in the film.

This project provided the opportunity for me to explore the concept of metaphors, weight, facial acting and body language in animation. It motivated me in researching these topics in depth, whilst also affirming my passion for becoming an animator.
